Gordon Neighbourhood House, a proud member of ANHBC, has been a cornerstone of the West End community for over 80 years. From food security programs to cultural celebrations, we create spaces where individuals of all ages and backgrounds come together to connect, learn, and thrive.
About the Role
As the Executive Director of GNH, you will be at the heart of this mission. Reporting to ANHBC’s CEO and collaborating with the GNH Community Board, you will lead a dedicated team of 35 staff members, hundreds of volunteers, and manage an annual budget of $1.7 million. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the community while contributing to ANHBC’s broader strategic vision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership: Align GNH’s operations with ANHBC’s mission and goals, developing and executing strategies that address the needs of the West End community.
- Community Development: Foster inclusive programs and services that promote social justice, sustainability, and meaningful connections.
- Team Building: Inspire and support a compassionate, innovative team, ensuring they have the resources to succeed.
- Partnership Building: Cultivate strong relationships with Indigenous neighbors, funders, community partners, and local groups in alignment with ANHBC’s values.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a leader with the following skills and qualities:
- Proven experience in senior leadership, ideally in the non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge of place-based strategies and community development.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the unique dynamics of the West End.
- Strategic planning expertise, balancing big-picture vision with actionable goals.
- Fund development and grant writing experience; donor engagement is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to nurture relationships and collaborate effectively.
