What is a Neighbourhood House?

A Neighbourhood House (NH) is a warm, friendly place where people of all ages come together to meet individual and collective needs of their neighbourhood and to play an active role in their community.

Utilizing local resources and talents, the NH is a neighbourhood-based, volunteer-driven and locally governed organization combining services, community building and social change activities

How is the Neighbourhood House different than the Community Centre?

What are your hours of operation?

Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm

What are the hours of the Thrift Store

Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4pm. More details here.

We would like to volunteer, how to go about it?

Our work would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers.
If you are looking for opportunities to get involved, please fill out the Volunteer Application form online or come by and fill out a application form at our Reception Desk during office hours.

Do we need a membership to participate in your programs?

Yes. Your membership fees pay for the operating cost and helps lower the fees for our drop-in programs.

How much is the membership fees?

$5 per adult / $7 per family

Do I have to live in the neighbourhood to participate in your programs?

No, you don’t.

Can I rent space for meetings?

Yes, you can. Please email welcome@gordonhouse.org to check our availability.
