Community Resourcing & Support
Our experienced Community Support Worker is available daily at Gordon Neighbourhood House to provide resources, referrals and connections to neighbours as needed. We can help you get started with housing referrals, access to emergency food, access to supportive programs and more.

Community Income Tax Clinic
Our Community Income Tax Clinic is run by trained volunteers to assist seniors and low income households in completing the current year’s tax return. This program is run in conjunction with Revenue Canada, and only basic returns are accepted.

Community Legal Aid Clinic
The Law Students’ Legal Advice Program for adults offers free legal advice and representation to those who cannot afford to pay for these services. Law students from various levels of study at the University of British Columbia, assisted by accredited members of the BC Bar, help clients solve their legal problems. The program located at Gordon Neighbourhood House provides services related to various legal issues, including: immigration, criminal matters, residential tenancy through services such as assisting clients with writing letters, negotiating with other parties, and preparing clients to appear on their own behalf in court. Law students are also able to take time to explain legal alternatives and legal processes to help clients feel comfortable exercising their legal rights.

English Conversation Class
The English Conversation Circle at Gordon Neighbourhood House provides an opportunity for people of all ages to practice reading, writing, and speaking the English language in a group setting. Whether you are just starting out, or advanced in your skills, our program will assist in your language development. By providing a variety of interactive and engaging activities and games, this program will accommodate people of all learning styles.

Vancouver’s downtown and its West End make up a lush neighbourhood area that is located near the city’s best-loved beaches and world-famous parks. The district is home to over 45,000 people and is one of most densely populated areas in Canada. The neighbourhood also hosts some of the largest events in the city, which attract hundreds of thousands of spectators every year. Residents are proud of their neighbourhoods and take pride in keeping their community clean through litter prevention. In 2013, Gordon Neighbourhood House (GNH) initiated and coordinated a Clean Team program in partnership with the West End Business Improvement Association (WEBIA), and the program continues today with the aim of keeping our neighbourhoods beautiful.
