Community Kitchen

Kitchen Philosophy

At Gordon Neighborhood House, our kitchen is a space for connection, where food brings people together to share stories, traditions, and friendships. We celebrate diversity by encouraging participants to cook and share dishes that hold personal meaning. Through our Community Kitchens program, we create a welcoming environment where everyone feels supported and valued. Together, we build community around the table, one meal at a time.

Programs

Community Lunch

Everyone is invited to a community lunch at Gordon Neighbourhood House on Mondays and Fridays. Community Lunches are an opportunity for community members to enjoy a meal together, meet new people, and catch up with friends in a relaxing setting. We are always looking for volunteers who can help cook meals, serve participants, and clean on Mondays and Fridays and occasionally for special events. Check out our monthly community lunch menu at Gordon Neighbourhood House, offering a variety of dishes that bring neighbors together.

Share & Connect

Join us for a special series where nine participants will take turns cooking and sharing a delicious meal with fellow members over three weeks. Are you looking to build new connections in a warm and welcoming environment? This is your chance! Whether it’s a dish from your homeland, a cherished family recipe, or your all-time favorite meal, you’ll have the opportunity to share not just the food, but also the stories, recipes, and tips that make it special. Participants who attend all three dinners will receive a $50 honorarium. Childcare and translation services are available upon request.

Interested? Contact us at welcome@gordonhouse.com to connect with our community chef, who will assist you with ingredients and support throughout the program.
