The Law Students’ Legal Advice Program for adults offers free legal advice and representation to those who cannot afford to pay for these services. Law students from various levels of study at the University of British Columbia, assisted by accredited members of the BC Bar, help clients solve their legal problems. The program located at Gordon Neighbourhood House provides services related to various legal issues, including: immigration, criminal matters, residential tenancy through services such as assisting clients with writing letters, negotiating with other parties, and preparing clients to appear on their own behalf in court. Law students are also able to take time to explain legal alternatives and legal processes to help clients feel comfortable exercising their legal rights.
When: Bi-weekly Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm-8:30pm (only from September to March)
