Territorial Acknowledgement

Gordon House serves communities living on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Gordon House has made a commitment to understanding what it means to operate on unceded territory, to recognize the past and ongoing harms to Indigenous people, and to meaningfully incorporate this learning into our work. We seek to do this work with respectful consideration for local protocols and institutions.

We are guided by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls’ Report’s Calls to Justice.

We encourage our membership to actively take steps to learn more about the history of the land. For more information, please email welcome@gordonhouse.org.
