Produce Market Volunteer

Gordon Neighbourhood House operates a Community Food Hub on Friday mornings in partnership with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

One of the features of the Food Hub is a low cost produce market that gives our community the opportunity to purchase affordable, seasonal, and sustainable vegetables & fruit. During the summer months this market often features produce grown in our own urban farming programs.

We are looking for volunteers who are available on Friday mornings from 9.45am until 1pm to help our staff farmer operate this market. Volunteers on this program should be comfortable working in a lively and fast paced market environment. Volunteers will be responsible for setting up the table and baskets, stocking the produce, chatting with customers, and helping tidy up afterwards. A second language, a passion for food security, and previous retail experience are all assets to volunteers in this role.
